KUFTA, Alexander M.  -  Passed away peacefully at Ste. Anne’s Veterans Hospital, Ste. Anne de Bellevue QC on Thursday, September 20th, 2018, at the age of 102.

Alex now joins his loving and devoted wife, Lena (nee Mackie) of 72 years, on the heavenly dance floor.

He will be forever missed by his four children, David (Susie Rousseau) of Kirkland, Kenneth (Connie Trew) of Vancouver, BC, Joyce (Carl Good) of Newcastle, ON, and Richard (Aileen Smiley) of Beaconsfield.

He touched the lives of each of his 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was lifetime Montrealer, a proud veteran of WWII (RCAF) and a retired career employee of Dominion Stores in real estate. He made many life-long friends at St. Thomas More Parish, Outremont Curling Club, and at their cottage at Lac L’Achigan. His passing is a great loss to all who knew him.

Alex’s family wish to thank the kind, compassionate, and dedicated staff of Ste. Anne’s Hospital, especially those on the 12th floor, where he called “home” for 8 years.

Friends may call at Yves Legare Funeral Home, Verdun, on Tuesday September 25th, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Verdun, on Wednesday September 26th at 11:00am, followed by burial at Field of Honour Cemetery, Pointe Claire QC.

If so desired, donations in Alex’s memory to Ste. Anne’s Hospital Foundation or St. Thomas More Parish Memorial Fund would be appreciated by his family.
