Broadbent FlorenceBROADBENT, Florence Evelyn “Eve” (nee Pearson) - Passed away peacefully at Wynfield LTC Residence on Saturday October 20th, 2018, with family by her side, two days after her 94th birthday.

Predeceased by William M. Broadbent “Bill”, who passed away in 1992, after almost 44 years of a wonderful marriage.

Much loved mother of Bill Broadbent (Lucy), Bob Broadbent (Sandra English), and Sue Hogan (Barry).

Proud grandmother of Pat, Heather, Julie, Laura, Krista, Ryan, Braden and Connor, and proud great-grandmother of Christian, Rachel, Hartlee and Isaac. Loving sister of Joan M. Aldred of Port Perry.

Evelyn will also be remembered by her extended family of in-laws and partners, nephews and nieces, and her many friends from Leslie St. and Traditions Retirement Residence.

Evelyn grew up in Oshawa, was a “gold cord” Girl Guide, attended O’Neill Collegiate, and graduated as a nurse from the Oshawa General Hospital in 1946.

She had a strong faith, and was an active member of Christ Memorial Church, and then St. George’s Memorial Church. Evelyn was a kind, positive, “fun”, intelligent, inspiring person who truly loved her family and friends.

Over her lifetime she was a “good sport”, who enjoyed travel, music, reading, her church groups, and her sewing and bridge clubs.

Evelyn had a ready laugh, she found beauty and joy in everyday life, and she had the unique gift of making all the people in her life feel special.

Relatives and friends will be received at McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD. . on Saturday November 10th, 2018, from 2:00 pm until time of celebration of life in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 pm.

If desired, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeridge Health Oshawa or St. George’s Memorial Anglican Church.

Online condolences can be shared at makfuneralhome.com.
