MARTIN, Joan Gertrude (nee Traill) - (Retired City of Oshawa employee)
Passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 79.
Joan married her soulmate John (Jack) in 1960, who passed away in 1997.
Also predeceasedby her son James Edward (2004), and by brother Ted (2003).
Loving mother of Jeffrey and Julie (Andy).
Adored and doting Grandma of Alexandra, Charlotte, Samantha, and Ethan.
Joan will be also missed by her feline companions Ozzie and Harriet.
Joan was very active in her retirement, volunteering with many community organizations, applying her exceptional green thumb skills to her garden, bird watching, entertaining friends, playing bridge and going to the Theatre and Cinefest.
Joan was a kind person and a true friend who one could turn to at any given time for help and advice.
There will be a celebration of her life at the THORNTON CEMETERY and FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 12pm -2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Durham Region Humane Society.
