PAYNE, William “Bill”  - Passed away peacefully in the early morning of Saturday December 29th, at his home in Coldwater in his 72nd year.

He will be sadly missed by his sisters; Carolyn Evans (Dean) and Connie Goodwin (John).

Beloved Uncle of many nieces and nephews; Brad (Holly) Evans, Jackson and Kurtis, Tim (Tracy) Evans, Connor and Avery, Deanna Evans (Paul), Greg (Ragan) Goodwin, Emily, Anna and Ryan, and Carolyn Goodwin (Russ).

Bill will also be missed by his special friend Cheryl Oxley.

A gentle caring person, Bill, a retired teacher, will be remembered for his love of nature, and his passion for music. In his younger years he liked entertaining the family with stories of his outdoor adventures. Lately, he enjoyed talking with neighbours and friends on his daily walks.

The family would like to extent their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, support workers and staff at the Dialysis Unit at Orillia Solders’ Memorial Hospital.

Included also, are the Personal Support Workers who visited daily to help make his difficult journey more bearable.

The family will receive guests at 2 p.m., on Sunday January 27 at Claremont United Church on Old Brock Road, and friends are invited to share their memories of Bill and celebrate his life at a Memorial service at 3 p.m. Cremation has taken place, with interment in the spring.

As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of William Payne may be made to a charity of your choice, or to the Kidney Foundation, or the Dialysis Unit at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.
