SMITH, Robert Smith - With broken hearts we announce the passing of RJ Smith, much loved husband of 61 years to Marilynn (nee Ross).

Beloved father of James (Elke), Robert (Lynn), David (Vivian) and Susanne Snoddon (Brent).

Proud grandfather of Jacob and Rebecca Smith; Tavis, Haley and Jenna Smith; Cal and Ashley Snoddon.

Dear brother of Margo McCutcheon (Ron Brown) and brother-in-law of Joan Hale, Linda Sauro, Janice Perry (deceased), Alan and Nellie Ross.

RJ loved Gowanlea. He turned it into a successful dairy farm, starting at the early age of 21 with Marilynn.

He was a life member of the Sunderland Lions Club and belonged to many other community organizations. He loved playing the piano. It was his main recreation. His other later in life was his wood shop. He was a friend to many.

The family of RJ Smith will receive friends at St. Andrews United Church, 10 Church Street in Sunderland on Wednesday, April 17th from 7– 9pm and Thursday, April 18th from 1 - 2pm. A Service to Celebrate his life will be held in the Chapel at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made by cheque to St. Andrews United Church or the Port Perry Hospital Foundation.
