BARCLAY, Eleanor (née Stewart) - On Monday February 11th, 2019, at the age of 88, Eleanor went to join her beloved husband Alex.
Her memory will be cherished by her daughters Fran Jones and Susan Sipos, sons-in-law David Jones and Tom Sipos and granddaughter Alana Sipos.
She is survived by her brother Ron and predeceased by her siblings Cam, Bubs, Elmer, Helen and Leora. Born and raised in Oshawa, she moved with Alex and their “girls” to Kitchener where she lived for 44 years.
In 2001 she returned to Oshawa to be closer to her family and made many new friends.
Eleanor loved dancing, curling, Balsam Lake, and Christmas.
Most of all, she loved her family.Her wit, generosity and passionate political debates will be missed by her family, extended family and friends.Special thanks to Dr. Nguyen, and all the staff at Extendicare Oshawa Unit 2 for their compassion, care and respect over the past 2 years. Cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Reception will be held at The Brock House (918 Brock St. N., Whitby) on Thursday February 21st, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
