ELFORD, Grant William Roy - Grant William Roy Elford, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Hospital in Oshawa at the age of 89 years on March 13th, 2019.
Born and raised in Oshawa, Ontario, Grant lived, worked, and retired here.
He was married to Rita (Sawyer) Elford for more than 60 years and together they raised four wonderful girls Laurie, Patti, Debra and Marjorie.
He was a grandfather to Sarah, Ashley, Kathryn, Chris, Jesse, Emma and Beth and a great-grandfather to Dylan and Leah.
His sisters, Laraine and Donna and their families have always been an important part of his life.
He is remembered as a loving brother and uncle who will be dearly missed.
He spent more than 40 years working for the City of Oshawa as the Budget Comptroller where he was greatly admired for the dedication he showed to his work and his coworkers.
Many of his favorite memories were from the numerous road trips he took throughout his life with his family to the United States.
Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, March 22nd from 1:00 p.m. until time of Celebration of Life in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m.
