Santookie NadiaSANTOOKIE, Nadia Santookie - Age 55, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2019, due to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer.

She was born November 29, 1963 in Georgetown, Guyana to parents Charles and Silmate.

She married in 1987 to Chetram Santookie who preceded her in death in 1989.

Nadia loved to love on people. She was a Personal Support Worker at Cedarbrook Lodge, and her hands and mind were rarely still. It suited her servant heart. She was a dear friend and a Mother to many people.

She would always say things like: "Do what's right and do what's good, Be kind and help others, The world can always use one more kind person, and if you can take it one step further, do it."

Her life was a living example of a Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."

She also shared her love of many genres of music, being known to play music all the time which really made her happy. She also shared her love of food such as pickled vegetables, chowmein, dahl, bigan choka, pera and her infamous Pepper Sauce, her flavour of choice to spice things up, just like her personality... spicy!

Nadia was a single-mother and is survived by: her only daughter Crystal, her three sisters Pamela, Julie, Annie; her nieces and nephews, Anand, Rishie, Cindy, Francis, and Darren, her great-nephew Jakson and cat, Angel. All whom she loved and touched deeply. She also shared the same love for her in-laws and their families.

Please join us celebrating her life at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 21 Garrard Rd, Whitby (905-443-3376) on Thursday, March 21st from 6 - 9 pm, and on Friday, March 22nd from 10 am - 11 am.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11 am., followed by a reception in the Arbor Lounge.
