POTTER, Mary Dorothy (nee Schieck) - Of Oshawa, passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Hospital, Oshawa, on Tuesday, March 19th, 2019 at the age of 96.
Beloved wife of the late Rev. Garnet Potter.
Dear Mother of David Potter and his wife Valerie of Ottawa, Alvin Potter of Bobcaygeon, and Marion Moore and her husband Gary of Oshawa.
Wonderful story teller to her three grandchildren, Bryce Moore and his wife Jennifer, Darcy Moore, Garnet Moore and his partner Elyse Poulin.
Dorothy was predeceased by her brothers Arthur, Morgan, and Douglas Schieck, and her sister Bertha Douglas (Schieck). Dorothy will be missed by her sister Margaret Stewart (Schieck) of Exeter, and her brother Larry Schieck of Peterborough, and her many nieces and nephews.
As per Dorothy’s wishes, cremation has already taken place. Visitation will take place at 1 pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 2 pm at Kingsview United Church, 505 Adelaide St. E., Oshawa, Ontario on Sunday March 31st. There will be a reception for all in the auditorium after the Celebration.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Kingsview United Church, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Lakeridge Health Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
