FLIELER, Larry James  - Passed away peacefully, with family by his side, at Lakeridge Health Port Perry on Thursday, April 11, 2019 in his 62nd year.

Larry was born in Port Perry on July 23, 1957.

“Lar” was the eldest son of Stanley Edward Flieler and Dorothy Marie Flieler (nee Vallieres). He is survived by his brother Terry (Kelly) and brother Jeff (Alexander), his nieces Lyndsay, Kaily (Jamie) and Lesley (Chris) and was great uncle to Jasmine and Alyssa, Hannah and Logan.

Larry resided most of his life in Myrtle with his uncle Stewart (Tubby) Wiles and aunt Marjorie Wiles (nee Vallieres), both predeceased.

Larry was a kind, loyal and gentle spirit. He was an avid war historian, keen movie goer, a world traveler, and a passionate and talented aviation photographer, which took him to airshows across the continent, making many lasting friendships along the way.

He was a familiar face at the Thursday night fly-ins at the Guelph Airpark and will be sadly missed by friends both local and abroad.

The family would like to acknowledge the kind and attentive care given to Larry by the staff at Port Perry Hospital.

A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #419, 484 Bay Street, Port Perry.

Donations on Larry’s behalf will be gratefully accepted by the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum or the Tiger Boys Aircraft Works and Museum (Guelph).
