BROOKS, Douglas Carl - Doug Brooks was in his 73rd year.
With family at his side on May 14, 2019, Doug peacefully left this earth to fly with the angels.
He was a talented Artist, Illustrator, Cartoonist etc., Wood Carver, Archer, Teacher, and devoted family man.
Doug also created portraits for the Oshawa, Peterborough and Lindsay Sports Halls of fame and for Durham College in Oshawa.
Doug leaves behind his loving wife and soul mate, Lin; sister Lynda Szmyr (Alex); son Jon (Amy); son Stacey (Jena); grandchildren Jessica (Eric), James and Tyler and a beautiful great granddaughter Stella, as well as many extended family and dear friends.
Doug worked at General Motors and then was self-employed for many years. He had a zest for life and loved a good story or long corny joke. Doug loved to laugh and was a strong family man and friend to many.
Whenever you see one of his paintings, artworks, carvings or creations of his, it would make him very happy if you would take a moment and just “Smile."
There will be no service as per his request and he will be cremated.
