KEMP, Helen Willena (Billie) Kemp    -  1927 - 2022  It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Billie Kemp (Helen Willena) (nee Rutherford) on September 4, 2022 in her 95th year.  

She passed peacefully with her son, Sandy, holding her hand.  

She was a loving wife for 60 years to her late husband, Douglas Kemp.

She will be fondly remembered by her children Sandy (Jill), Kirk (Sheila) and Elizabeth (Tony Gibson).

She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Laura, Natalie, Eric, Erin, Byron, Victor and Victoria, her great-grandchildren Liam, Maeve and Audrey and many nieces and nephews.

Billie, a proud member of the Rutherford Clan, is survived by her two siblings Marianne Chapelle and Jean Taplin and predeceased by siblings Sandy Rutherford, Onie Myles, Betty Peacock and Jack Rutherford. 

Billie embraced her membership at St. Paul’s United Church and was very fortunate to be apart of such a caring church community.

She is a Life Member of the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario, had 60 years of service with The Bowmanville Lions Club and has received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award from the Rotary Club and the Helen Keller Fellowship Award from the Lions Club.

Billie spent many years organizing drivers for cancer patients and distributing bedkits for Sleeping Children Around The World. 

Billie was a caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was always concerned about the welfare of others. She will never be forgotten and will remain in our hearts forever. 

Arrangements with Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville.  The Memorial Service will occur at St. Paul’s United Church, 178 Church Street, Bowmanville, on Tuesday September 13, 2022 at 11:30 am. A reception will follow the service. Inurnment at Bowmanville Cemetery after reception.
