Etmanskie PeterETMANSKIE, Peter Robert  - 

September 15, 1928 - April 5, 2023

 

On the morning of April 4th, 2023, Peter passed away peacefully while with loved ones. Peter was in his 95th year. 

 

Peter was predeceased by Jean, his loving wife of 63 years.

 

He was the cherished father of Peter A. (Shelley) and Brenda (Dave Glazier). He will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Andrea (Kerry Hester), Peter L. (Jennifer), Kenny Glazier (Alicia) and Lillian Glazier (Alex Robertson).

He was a devoted Great-Grandpa to Peter C. and Anthony. Fondly remembered by the extended Etmanskie, Fletcher and Glazier families. 

 

Peter was well respected in the community as the business owner of Pete’s Cleaning and Maintenance for 28 years. Important contracts included the Whitby Medical Clinic.

 

Peter was also the Division Superintendent for Whitby’s St. John Ambulance and a member of St. Mark’s congregation for over 70 years. Earlier in his life, Peter was an OPP officer and a Dunlop / Firestone security guard prior to its closing in Whitby. 

 

Family and friends may call at  W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, on Thursday, April 13th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.

A celebration of Peter’s life will be held in the chapel on Friday, April 14th at 11am.

 

Interment at  GROVESIDE CEMETERY.

 

Donations may be made to Lakeridge Health Foundation or St. Mark’s United Church.
