PATTISON, Pauline Pattison -
February 26, 1942 - April 4, 2023
Pauline was born during World War II in the south of England and grew up in the postwar period.
She had two ambitions, one was to teach, the other was to travel.
She met her husband while teaching and was married in August 1964.
They emigrated to Canada in 1976 with their two small children.
Unfortunately, her British teaching credentials were not accepted in Ontario, but she kept her love of young people alive by becoming a student advisor at Seneca College; a position she held until retirement in 2004.
She and her husband travelled extensively, culminating in a six month round-the-world trip in 2005.
Pauline was also active in her church community, particularly in presenting with her husband at Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekends.
Sadly, she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2016, and with Dementia in 2021.
She coped with this awful disease with good humour and grace, but suffered a fall in January 2022 which led to her decline. She was lovingly cared for at home until she suddenly passed away on April 4, 2023.
She leaves behind her husband Rex, her children Nick and Gemma, and two grandchildren Abby and Dylan.
Funeral mass will be held at St Francis of Assisi in town April 14 at 11 am. It will be followed by a reception at the Massey House with family only attending the committal at Bond Head cemetery.
