Churchill JohnCHURCHILL, John (Jack) Randolph -

November 10, 1935 - May 1, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected death of Jack Churchill at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Beloved husband of Gillian Marjorie (nee Grepe) for almost 59 years.

Much loved son of the late John and Florence Churchill.

Cherished brother to Lorraine and the late Douglas Churchill.

Dear brother-in-law to John Grepe (Gail), Nancy Grepe (Michael Brown) and the late Margaret Grepe and Janet Hoare.

A generous and loving uncle to Jennifer Hamilton (Daniel) and John Churchill (Kerri), and to Anne Hoare (Michael) and John Hoare (Susan), Christa Ruhl (Christian) and Robert Grepe (Amanda).

Great-uncle to Charlotte, Sophie; Ella, Lily, Harrison; John Paul; Emma, Jessica.

He had a long and successful career as an insurance broker with Tomenson Saunders (now Marsh).  A great lover of Dixieland Jazz, he played drums with The Hammered Brass.

A life-long sports fan, Jack started coaching local Leaside baseball and hockey teams in his twenties and more recently became a soccer fan, particularly of his English Premier League team, Liverpool.

Fondly remembered by everyone for his great sense of humour, and infectious laugh.  Always a believer in giving back, he was an active supporter of multiple charities; a more sincere, caring and generous person one could never know.

Condolences may be made through the  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME at  armstrongfh.ca .

The family will receive friends at 900 Wilson Road North, Oshawa on Saturday, May 27th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

If desired, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
