JANSMA, Gertrude (Maiden name Engelage) -
JUNE 13, 1937 – JUNE 5, 2023
With family by her side, Gertrude (Gertie) Jansma went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday, June 5th, 2023.
She was born on June 13th, 1937, in the town of Emmer Compascuum, Holland and immigrated to Canada with her family in July 1950.
She married the love of her life Adrian Jansma in May of 1958 until his passing in December 1988.
She was the loving mother of Harold (Yvonne), Donald, Margaret (Terry), Patricia (Art), Michael (Pam).
Extremely loved Oma to Devin (Kayli), Erin (Ralph), Sarah (Chase), Danelle+, Zackary (Stacey), Katelyn (Brandon), Cameron (Kirsten), Dale, Dalton, Angela, Jessie (Bowen), Riley and a very proud Great Oma to 11 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her brothers Harry, George, Hill, Hemmo, Bill and Frank and sisters, Dini, Anje, TrudyShe will be sadly missed by her sisters Jane and Margaret and In-laws, Frieda, Henk, Tena (Frank) and Anne and many nieces and nephews. A huge Thank You to Glen Hill Strathaven Bowmanville for all the care and love given to Gertie during her last few years. You all are the best!
A visitation for Gertrude will be held Sunday, June 11th, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario. A memorial service will occur Monday, June 12th, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Hebron Christian Reformed Church, 4240 Anderson Street, Whitby, Ontario.
