MATTHEWS, Charles Lavell Matthews - Peacefully passed away on Monday June 12, 2023 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at age 79.
Charles was the beloved husband of Carol.
Loving father to Marc (Crystal) and Peter.
Cherished grandfather of Spencer and Victoria.
Wonderful brother-in-law to Gail (Martin), Joanne (Vaughn) and Valia (Jamie). He will be missed by his nieces and nephews in England.
Charles is predeceased by his sister, Jean Ashcroft, his parents, Charles and Edith, and his nephew, Mark.
He will be missed by all who knew him. Charles was born in Liverpool, England. He spent the majority of his career working at General Motors in Oshawa doing machine repairs, primarily in the North plant.
Charles was a private man who enjoyed spending time with close family and friends. As a younger man, Charles was an avid fisherman.
Arrangements with the Wagg Funeral Home 216 Queen Street in Port Perry. A private family service will be held at the Collingwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Memories.
