MINTO, Lilla -
1935 - 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lilla May Minto, aged 88 who passed away on June 11, 2023 at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Hospital.

She was born Lilla May Minto, the daughter of Gerald and Bernice Minto on May 23, 1935, in the parish of St. Ann, Jamaica.

She was a teacher and the mother of Beverley, June, Michael, Robert, Loretta and Yvonne.

She was also a surrogate mother to Marcia, Shawn, Carrol and several others.

She is survived by her grandchildren Marvin, Andre, Tevin, Jevar, Jermaine, Sheridan, Tyler, Sienna, Kyle and Matthew and her only great-grand child, Jasmine Lilla.

Lilla is also survived by her two sisters Daisy Walker and Louise Spence and her brother Norval Minto.

By any standard, Lilla was an exceptional woman and a faithful servant of the Lord to the very end. No matter the time, or place, a song of praise and the word of God was always in her heart.

A service to honour her memory and legacy will be held on June 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Clair Avenue Baptist Church (152 Wychwood Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M6C 2T2 – 416-651-8741)

Please no floral tributes as an offering will be collected on behalf of the St Clair Baptist Church. Thank you.

Burial:  Family plot, Maida, St. Ann, Jamaica, on Saturday July 22, 2023.
