It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Ruben Park announce his peaceful passing on Friday, Sept 15, 2023 at the LakeRidge Health Oshawa Palliative Care Unit in his 84th year, surrounded by his loving family.

John fought a very difficult battle with kidney disease and now his fight is over.  He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories, the love of his life, his wife of 52 years: Lillian Park (nee. Brake), his four children: Tony (Marie), Gerry (Jen), Robert (Denise),Kaye (Steve).

He also leaves his special sisters; Hazel (Josh), Kathleen (Mark), Marjorie & Mary, and brother Don (Genova).

John is predeceased by his parents: George & Edith Park; brother Bill; sisters; Jessie, Molly, Irene, and his son Andre Hickey. John had 8 grand children; Sarah, Brad, Sierra, Katlyn, Johnny, Chris, Christy, Garet and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and good friends especially his fur baby Bella.  John & Lillian would have celebrated their 52nd wedding Anniversary on September 23rd, the love that they shared was incredible.

They moved to Pickering, Ontario in 2013 from Newfoundland to live with their daughter Kaye & Steve and have lived their best life. John was a true Newfie, he loved to watch the NTV news faithfully and every Saturday night The Mainland Kitchen Band.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the LakeRidge Health Oshawa Palliative Care Unit. department, 4F & The Lakeridge Health Whitby Kidney Care Clinic.

Your kindness and support shown during this difficult time will never be forgotten.  At John’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life to take place at a later date at St Ambrose Anglican Church in John’s Beach, NL.
