McInnes JohnMcINNES, John  -

NOVEMBER 21 , 1931 – OCTOBER 5, 2023

John McInnes passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 5, 2023.

John was born November 21,1931 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Married to his sweetheart 'Bubbles' on October 4th,1957; he and his wife Nancy (nee Clark) celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary, this past Wednesday.

John is survived by his three children, John McInnes, Regan Sleeman (Vic), Valerie Williams (Greg), his six grandchildren Kate and Shannon McInnes, Victoria Hutchison (Peter) and Brenden Sleeman, Mitchell and Briar Williams and his great grandson Kenneth Hutchison.

John loved the great outdoors, skiing, camping and canoeing. He enjoyed over 40 years of sailing on Lake Ontario.

He was an avid member of the Oshawa Yacht club where he served a term as Commodore and later joined the Whitby Yacht Club.

John loved spending time with his wife, Nancy, family, and friends; all with a good measure of Scotch.

Fondly remembered and missed by Betty Scovil, their Maid of Honour, and life-long friends, David (deceased) and Alice Fisher, and their children Lesley and Craig.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Hillsdale Terraces, Oshawa; especially, those in the Garden Gate Residence for their care and kindness given to John. Slàinte mhath! 'Big Bad' John / 'Old Gray Hairs'.
