Hannam RobertHANNAM, Robert Edmond Hannam  -

The family of Rob Hannam sadly announces his sudden passing on October 7, 2023 at Lakeridge Hospital in Oshawa Ontario at the age of 58.

Rob leaves behind his spouse of twenty-four years, Heather Montgomery.

Rob was the cherished son-in-law of Janet Montgomery and the late Ronald Montgomery.

He will be missed by his sisters and brothers-in-law Kathy and Alan Perry, Laurie and Jim Haughey, and Jill and Jeff Moulton.

Rob had two sisters, Yvonne Burkey and Anita Hannam.

Rob was loved dearly by his nephews and nieces, AJ Perry (Alyssa Smith), Elyse Perry, Sinead Hammond (Michael), and Gabriel Haughey (Marketa) as well as his new great-nephew, James Thomas (JT).

Rob was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia to James Hannam and Veronica Burkey on December 7, 1964.

Working as an inventory clerk for WIS International, he met Heather and they married in 1999. Together they embarked on the exciting project of becoming homeowners, renovating their bungalow into a beautiful modern home of which he was very proud.

When their Jack Russell terrier Sunny died, they adopted two Boston Terriers - Dolly and Oreo.

Rob was passionate about many things, especially blues music from the early roots of the genre, football, wrestling, craft beer and collecting specific memorabilia.

He had a mind for numbers and a memory for statistics. Rob was devoted to the Clemson Tigers American College football team and tried never to miss a game, whether on TV or radio. His quick wit and wry sense of humour made him a great conversation partner and his big smile lit up the whole room.

Rob was a beautiful soul who was deeply connected within his family and truly enjoyed the family’s many festive meals and get togethers.

According to his wishes, Rob has been cremated.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date and a celebration of Rob’s life will take place for family and close friends.

If desired, a donation in memory of Rob to Charity Oshawa Animal Services or Feed the Need in Durham would be appreciated by the family.

Online condolences may be shared at armstrongfh.ca .
