This October 19th, Francesco Longo took his final breath, surrounded by his loved ones.
The sun rose and the world welcomed Francesco on September 21st, 1940, a day the world became a little brighter.
Francesco lived a full and warm life, filled with joy and happiness.
He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. Francesco Longo, 83, born in Lago, Provincia di Cosenza, Calabria, Italia and of Courtice, Ontario, Canada, left us, surrounded by his family, passed on from natural causes.
Francesco Longo was predeceased by his parents, Ferdinando and Esterina Longo. He is survived by siblings – Raffaelina and Mario and predeceased by Carmela and Gino.
Francesco Longo is survived by his wife, Elisabetta and his 4 children and 5 grandchildren – Ferdinando; Esterina and her husband, Robert and their children, Kayla and Dylan, Maurizio and his partner, Gloreah and their family, Michael, Sarah, Christopher and Francesco, and Gianfranco and his wife, Ersilia and their children, Elisabetta and Maria. Francesco Longo was a very proud Canadian citizen with strong roots from Italia.
He was a proud member of LIUNA Local 183 and retired in 1996. He enjoyed gardening, raising his chickens and rabbits, playing Italian cards with both family and friends, constructing the family homes, and regaling his wisdom and life-long knowledge upon family and friends.
Funeral visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on October 25th at the Courtice Funeral Chapel, located at 1587 Highway #2 in Courtice, Ontario.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Thursday, October 26th at Ste. Therese Roman Catholic Church, located at 3800 Courtice Road North in Courtice, Ontario.

Burial will be held on Thursday, October 26th immediately following the Service at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery located at 355 Taunton Road East in Whitby, Ontario.
