PHILLIPS, Donald Ray Paul  -  It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Donald (Don) Ray Paul Phillips, on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

Don was the loving and devoted husband of 61 years to his wife and best friend, Diane; the cherished and enormously proud father of Cathy (Mike Howlett), Mark Phillips (Linda), Susan (Bill Thajer) and Lianne (Peter Hoogers); most adored grandfather and biggest fan of Courtney (Sam Sutherland), Kaitlin, Gregory, Markus, Ryan, Andrew, Chantel and Graham; and beloved brother to John (Theresa) and Ruth.

Don was born in Galt, Ontario, and was raised in Peterborough and Toronto.

He enjoyed a long and successful career in sales, heading National sales at E.D. Smith & Sons and Lander Co. Canada.

He lived his life with integrity, honesty and decency – a true gentleman, caring friend and the first to help those in need. He was always there for his family, and he taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer.

His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile.

Despite the pain, Don came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.

On his final day, he was surrounded by his family, who adore him more than anything else in the world. We will cherish forever his guidance, enduring love and our memories.

He gave us a wonderful life and if love could have saved him, he would have lived forever.

Don will be honoured in a private celebration of life.

Instead of flowers, Don would want you to do an unexpected act of kindness for someone in his name.
