ANTAYA, Nancy Jane  - On April 2nd 2024, surrounded by her loving family, Nancy passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Gardens after a long battle with dementia.

She was the devoted wife of the late Cavan Gauder whom together, enjoyed thirty plus years of marriage.

Nancy was the beloved mother of Nicole Gauder (Gene), Greg Gauder (Karen) and grandmother to Sydney.

Nancy was known to light up the room with her infectious laughter and terrific sense of humour. She was an avid movie buff who adored spending time with her family.

Nancy was a kind-hearted soul who found happiness in the companionship of animals, especially her pets Chance and Reggie.

Always beaming with a smile, Nancy has touched the lives of many with her infinite joy and openhearted nature. She believed in accepting others without judgment, a lesson that we can all live by.   She will be greatly missed by all of her extended family and friends.

Though no longer physically present, her loving spirit will always be cherished and remembered.

A special thank you to the staff members at Taunton Mills Long Term Care Facility as well as Lakeridge Gardens who gracefully took care of Nancy during the later stages of her illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Humane Society in memory of Nancy.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at McEachnie Funeral Home, Pickering Village, on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
