Gordon LanceLANCE, Roy Gordon Lance   -  Roy passed away at home, surrounded by his family, after a brief but courageous battle with Brain Cancer on Saturday April 20th, 2024 on his favorite date… “420”.

Roy leaves behind his loving wife Cindy Carroll, his beloved children Margaret Watts (Cole) and Dylan. And last but not least, and much to his dismay, Roy was outlived by his best friend…the damn dog Malibu.

Survived by his sisters Margaret (the late Murray), Cathy, Bette, Jo Anne and Jane (Herb).

Predeceased by his brother Richard.

Roy will be sadly missed by his many family, friends and weed suppliers.

Those that knew Roy marveled at how much weed he was actually able to enjoy on a daily basis.

Roy will leave a huge void with all of his brothers & sisters at IATSE Local 873 Union where he made many friendships over his 28 years, standing strong together.

He was proud of his career and loved working with his peers and friends throughout the years.

Roy has cherished working on his ’56 Chevy over the past 12 years, it is almost road ready and he was happy to know it was finally able to start, hearing it one last time, before he passed away.

Roy was a long time darts player in many leagues over the years and taught his kids the game as well.

Roy was a lifelong supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs and watched their first playoff game on his last night.

Finally, and most importantly, Roy’s family was everything to him.

Please join with the family to Celebrate a Life Well Lived, albeit too short, on Sunday April 28th, Visitation will be held from 2pm to 4pm followed by a Service in the Chapel at 4pm at  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation.
