Mason KarenMASON, Karen  -  It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Karen Joyce Mason (née Matheson) on April 19th 2024.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Karen transitioned peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loved ones.

We are grateful to have been by her side during her final days and are comforted in knowing that she is no longer in pain.

Although our hearts are broken, they are also full of many wonderful memories that we will cherish forever.

We know that she will always be with us, watching over us and guiding us with her love and support just as she has always done.

Karen will be deeply missed by her husband of 51 years Gary Mason, her daughters Trisha Mason (Stéphane Bédard) and Kimberly Boileau (Chris Boileau), her son Ryan Mason (Brittany Krolicki), and her beloved grandsons Caleb and Zachary Boileau.

She will also be missed by her sisters Darlene Graham (Ron Ralph), Debbie Matheson, Catherine Matheson (Mario Boucher) as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and extended family.

Predeceased by her parents George and Kathleen Matheson (nee Dowling), her sister and brother-in-law Sandra and Fred Szekely, her brother-in-law Donald Graham, and her niece Kathleen Boudreau.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves us memories that no one can steal

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27th from 6:30p.m. until 8:30p.m. at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME, Whitby. A memorial service will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, April 28th at 11:00a.m. with visitation one hour prior. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Ajax.

In lieu of flowers, Karen and her family would appreciate donations in her name to Make-A-Wish Canada, her favorite charity.
