Carole was born in Ottawa but lived most of her life in Whitby, where she volunteered at Durham Centre for the Developmentally Handicapped, and worked at the Durham District School Board.

She loved working with children and youth with special needs at Adelaide McLaughlin Public School, Ajax High School, Aldon School, and as a co-operative education teacher. Carole enjoyed sewing, and fabric arts, reading, and spending time with friends and family at the cottage on Little Hawk Lake.

After moving to Cobourg she volunteered for the Northumberland Hills Hospital Auxiliary, and enjoyed making many new friends.

Cremation has taken place. A visitation, funeral service and reception will be held at the MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby (905-443-3376) on Saturday April 22, 2017. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m., with a memorial service at 2:30 p.m., followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations to Grandview Children’s Centre (www.grandviewkids.ca) would be appreciated by the family.
