She had a true servant’s heart, and spent her life always putting other people’s needs before her own.

Loyal and kind beyond measure, she was the most loving and generous of moms.

To her children, Andrew and Mariana Richardson, Ellen and Paul Conti, and late daughter Karen (1979) she was always their biggest fan. She taught them to always believe the best about people, and to make the most of every day together.

To her precious grandchildren, Luke and Kate, she was their sweet, loving, and gentle Nana. We will all cherish her memory and her unconditional love.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul and parents Morley and Lorna Rorabeck, she is survived by her loving sister Catherine Young (Richard), nephew Robert Young and niece Joanne (Dave) Haacke.

Dear sister-in-law to Phyllis Harris (Jim), niece Jayne and nephews Fred (2016), Robert, Frank and Jamie (Kelly). A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 2nd, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King Street East, Oshawa (905-433-5558) with a reception to follow in the funeral home reception centre.

If desired, donations in memory of Joan may be made to the SickKids Foundation or the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

The family would especially like to thank the staff at Lynde Creek Manor retirement home and the doctors and nurses of Lakeridge Health Oshawa, for their compassion, care and kindness.
