      Ontario Junior Hockey League, Whitby Fury Junior A Hockey Club, in conjunction with Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, invite the community to sign a guestbook of condolence at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby in memory of the players and team personnel who lost their lives in Humboldt, Saskatchewan.

    The book will be available daily from  9 a.m. - 8 p.m. until Monday, April 23rd, at which time the book will be sent to the OJHL offices to be sent to the team in Saskatchewan

HumboldtStrong BannerA book of remembrance and support has been placed in the lobby of the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME for residents of Oshawa, Whitby and Clarington. This will be sent to the community of Humboldt to show our support and solidarity.

Hockey sticks will be donated to support minor hockey in our community.

As well, OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL and DIGNITY MEMORIAL will make a donation to support Minor Hockey for every stick collected.

Castello BrendaCASTELLO, Brenda Yvonne  - On Wednesday, August 16th, 2017, Brenda Castello passed away in her 67th year in Oshawa, Ontario.

Born on June 11, 1950 in Airy Hall Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara (Guyana, S.A.)

Brenda moved to Canada in 1974 and settled in Toronto.

She worked at Providence Center as a Nurse before becoming an Occupational Therapist Assistant until retiring in 2010.

Brenda has left to mourn her children Janeen and Joshua, Son in law Robert; Grandchildren Jonathan, James and Josanna; Siblings Joan Audrey, Felix, Oswald, and Silvius; Nieces and Nephews, In Laws; Cousins and Friends too numerous to mention.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, August 25th, from 4:00 pm until 8:00pm.

Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, August 26th at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be immediately after the service taking place at Resurrection Cemetery.

Floral arrangements will be welcomed at the Funeral Home before Friday August 25th.
