HODGINS, Iris Isabella (Mattice) Hodgins - On November 6, 2017 in her 91st year at Oshawa ON.
Iris, loving wife of Russell Hodgins, Lucan ON (predeceased) and loving mother of Neil, Lorraine (Bob Chambers), Cheryl (Paul Nichols). Dear Nanny of Benjamin Rietta, Rachel & Spencer Quinn.
Iris grew up in Ottawa amongst 18 children spanning two families; she was the beloved daughter of Prudence Mattice (Lowell) and Walter Mattice.
Iris has missed her siblings Hazel (Jim Murdoch), Gerry (Mabel, Elsa, Vera), Gladys (Dick Brothers), Dorothy (Ed Stinson) Bruce (Jacqueline) and Eric (Carmel) as well as her much loved Wilfred and Martha Mattice.
Iris will dearly miss her nieces and nephews, Bob (deceased) & Bonnie Murdoch, Judy & Larry Lobb(deceased) Jim Murdoch & Nathalie Caron, Maureen Findlay, Wayne & Linda Mattice, Sandy & Peter Renowden, Larry, & Rosalie Stinson, Chuck & Nancy Stinson, Bill Stinson, Ron & Yvonne Stinson, & Richard Stoddart; as well as great nieces and nephews and their children.
Iris will reunite with, Shirley Charles (Mattice) Anne Phillips, Helen Hogan and Ethel Delong.
Our family would like to thank the fantastic team of Lakeridge 4F Supportive Care, Dr Ngo, Dr Viera, Dr McAllister (words are not enough) Dr Tirmizi, Sam, Kim, Jane, Maria and the CE LIHN Palliative Team.
In lieu of flowers, please support the causes close to Mom; Whitby Humane Society, Lakeridge Health Palliative Care, or Durham Hospice.
A memorial will take place in Spring 2018. Arrangements entrusted with Highland Park funeral centre, Peterborough.
