Elms RoyELMS, Roy -  12/4/1918 - 11/27/2017

One week shy of his 99th birthday, died peacefully yesterday at Woodhaven Long Term Care Facility.

Roy is predeased by his first wife Doreen Elms, his second wife, Vera Walkenshaw and his son Mark. He will forever be remembered as a loving father by his sons Greg and Jim (Darlene).

He also leaves behind five grandchildren; Julie, Ryan, Mark, Crystal and Doug and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Lincoln.

Roy proudly served in World War II in the Canadian Navy from 1941-1945 as a Signalman on the HMCS Shawinigan. He went on to work at CP Express as Supervisor of the Claims Department and retired form CP in approximately 1982.

For those who knew Roy, he will forever be rememembered as a gentleman, with a "gift-of-gab", jovial laugh, strong handshake and a love of life.

You can pay your respects to the family on Thursday November 30th at McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOMEe in Ajax between 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Services will take place on Friday, December 1st at the funeral home at 10:30 am followed by a reception. Roy will be cremated and his ashes will be buried alongside his wife Doreen and son Mark.

Greg, Jim and Darlene wish to thank the wonderful staff at both Cedarvale Lodge in Keswick and Woodhaven Long Term Care facility in Markham for taking such good care of their Dad.
