HAWES, Mary Edith Jane (Ellis) – Passed away peacefully, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, with her family at her side, on Friday December 15, 2017.
Mary of Cavan, formerly of Blackstock ON, in her 83rd year.
Mary, beloved wife of the late Ivan Hawes for 43 years. Loving mother of Christina Griffith, Rick Hawes (Sue), Donna Baker (Walter), and Steve Hawes (Sheila).
Proud grandmother of eight and great grandmother of many. Dear sister of Rosie McMurray, Stan Ellis and the late Alfred Ellis.
Retired supervisor from Lindsay Antenna. Past President and long-time member of Port Perry Legion #419 Ladies Auxiliary. Mary enjoyed golf, bowling, bingo and time spent at the casino slots. She loved her family and her dogs.
Following mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the Ashburnham funeral home, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough.
Donations in memory of Mary, may be made through the funeral home to a charity of your choice.
