      Ontario Junior Hockey League, Whitby Fury Junior A Hockey Club, in conjunction with Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, invite the community to sign a guestbook of condolence at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby in memory of the players and team personnel who lost their lives in Humboldt, Saskatchewan.

    The book will be available daily from  9 a.m. - 8 p.m. until Monday, April 23rd, at which time the book will be sent to the OJHL offices to be sent to the team in Saskatchewan

HumboldtStrong BannerA book of remembrance and support has been placed in the lobby of the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME for residents of Oshawa, Whitby and Clarington. This will be sent to the community of Humboldt to show our support and solidarity.

Feel free to add to our memorial in front of the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME.

Hockey sticks will be donated to support minor hockey in our community.

As well, OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL and DIGNITY MEMORIAL will make a donation to support Minor Hockey for every stick collected.

Walls IreneWALLS, Irene Stella (nee DEAN)  - Passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday January 7, 2018, at Reach View Nursing Home in Uxbridge at the age of 90.

Beloved Wife of Blake Noel Walls, Of Oshawa.

Irene was Born May 18th 1927, In New Glasgow Nova Scotia.

She was The daughter of William and Lily Dean.

Irene was a devoted wife to her adoring husband Blake for 72 years.

She travelled to Oshawa as a young war bride where she lovingly raised her three children. She worked at Eaton’s when it first opened at the Oshawa Shopping Centre. She loved housekeeping and worked in this capacity in a private home where she was also a companion and friend to her employer. She loved to laugh and have fun, enjoying the simple pleasures in life.

She will be very sadly missed by her loving children, Pat (George Ashby), Mike (Yvonne), Chris (Sandy), Grandchildren Kevin (Michelle), Bryan (Suzanne), Jennifer (Matt), Jacqueline (Martin), Scott.

Great Grandchildren, Adam, Robyn, Ethan, Sierra, Claire, Seth, Jack, Ben, Sam, and Will. Predeceased by her brothers, Charlie, Colin, Reg and Sisters Maine and Edna.  

Visitation will take place at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 21 Garrard Rd. Whitby, (905-443-3376), on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 12 – 1 p.m. with a memorial service to commence in the chapel at 1 p.m. Reception to follow.

If desired donations to the diabetes association or the Alzheimer’s society would be appreciated.
