      Ontario Junior Hockey League, Whitby Fury Junior A Hockey Club, in conjunction with Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, invite the community to sign a guestbook of condolence at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby in memory of the players and team personnel who lost their lives in Humboldt, Saskatchewan.

    The book will be available daily from  9 a.m. - 8 p.m. until Monday, April 23rd, at which time the book will be sent to the OJHL offices to be sent to the team in Saskatchewan

Hockey sticks will be donated to support minor hockey in our community.

As well, OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL and DIGNITY MEMORIAL will make a donation to support Minor Hockey for every stick collected.

Hatch StevenHATCH, Steven John Herbert  - August 30, 1954 – January 12, 2018

After a short battle with an aggressive cancer Steven passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday January 12th at the age of 63.

Soulmate best friend and lover of Barbara for 26 years.

Loving father of Lucas and his girlfriend Skyler and John and his partner Eric.

Predeceased by his daughter Karen (2016).

Brother of Carol and her husband Larry and Linda and her husband Michael and Robert and his wife Jodi.

Steven is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families..  

Steven retired just 4 years ago from Ontario Shores, his passions included the Toronto Maple Leaf’s, cars and his family. The family would like to thank the angels disguised as doctors and nurses at Lakeridge Health Oshawa and the VHA Homecare professionals for their kindness and compassion.

A private family celebration of life service followed by a reception will be held at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby on Tuesday afternoon. n Steven will be laid to rest at Thornton Cemetery, Oshawa.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Lakeridge Health (Cancer Care) would be appreciated.
