Shetler JohnSHETLER, John Leigh - Retired CNR engineer; Clarington Sports Hall of Fame Inductee 2003 (Orono Orphans)

Passed away quietly on April 4, 2018 in his 86th year.

Survived by his wife Eleanor.

He was adored by his daughters Maureen (Randy) Fallis and Diane (Bill) Sainsbury and will be sadly missed by his grandsons Ethan and Scott.

Predeceased by his parents David and Lila (Brown); his siblings Paul, Marie (Manning) Jim, Sam, Barbara and Frank.

An Oshawa native, John was drawn to Orono to play sports as a member of the Orono Orphans and later played baseball with the Kendal Eagles.

He was a lifelong baseball enthusiast who enjoyed a good auction sale and took much pleasure in his collections of whimsical wicker, old bottles and antique memorabilia.

Private Arrangements.

Donations in John’s memory to the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation or the Orono Amateur Athletic Association would be greatly appreciated.
