Alexander J. Mitchell, known to all as Sandy, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 5th, 2018 in Uxbridge, Ontario, following a short illness.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Sandy moved with his family to Bermuda at a very young age; later to return to Scotland in his youth and then back to Bermuda as a young man until his immigration to Canada in 2004.

There is no doubt that a highlight of his life was as Founder of both WindReach Farm (1989) and WindReach Bermuda (1999). It would certainly take a book to tell all the WindReach stories from the past 30 years. Generations have been impacted by Sandy’s vision and action.

He also leaves his wife Sally Mitchell (nee Walker) and his son Vincent Mitchell from his previous marriage to Christine Mitchell (nee Vincent). He is pre deceased by his wife Maria Mitchell (Johnson).

In addition, he leaves five step-daughters and their families including eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge Ontario, on Sunday May 13th from 2 - 4pm. A Celebration of Life, will be held at WindReach Farm, Ashburn Ontario, on Monday May 14th at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to WindReach Farm Foundation, which is dedicated to sustaining and building on Sandy’s legacy.
