Davidson JamesDAVISON, James Leonard 'Jim'  - It is with heavy hearts that the family of James L. Davison (September 6, 1931 - October 26, 2017) announces his passing. He bravely fought the many health and mobility challenges that came his way.

Jim was dedicated to his family which grew to include 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was the biggest hockey fan of grandsons, Ryan and Tyler, attending all of their hometown games.

Sports were a big part of his life and he was an avid golfer and hockey fan.

Jim had a distinguished career as an educator and contributed greatly to Humber College, as a Vice President. He also had the opportunity to travel to countries such as United Arab Emirates, Singapore and Malaysia as an International Educational Consultant.

Beloved wife of Donald H.E. Carlson (d. 1999).

Loving mother of Madeline Anne Ellis (Desmond) of Oakville; Elizabeth Jane Davis, d. 1987 (Richard); Susannah Pamela Grace (d. 2009); Anthony Ernest Theophilus (Donna) of Waterdown; and Gustav Donald Michael (Susan) of Bedford, NY.

He is survived by his loving wife Rosa of 58 years. Proud father of Antonio (Roseann), Ralph (Anna) and Teresa. Cherished Nonno of Christian, Brianna, Daniel, Nicholas, Victoria (Roger) and Alexandra (Matthew).

Predeceased by his siblings Ronnato, Vincenzo, Mario and by his parents Antonio and Teresa. Missed also by many nieces, nephews and countless friends.

 

Cochrane SamCOCHRANE, Richard Alexander 'Sam' - Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 83 on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 61 years Gwendolyn (nee Smith).

He was predeceased by his infant daughter Sharron Anne. Survived by his children, Linda (John), Ellen and Steven. His grandchildren, Alexander, Dylan (Demi), Cameron, Zachary, Samantha, Jamieson, Kayla and his eldest grandson Steven whom he unfortunately was not able to meet before his passing.

 

PROKOP, Anne (nee MANCHUR) - (1927 - 2017) - Passed away at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, October 25, 2017.

Loving mother to Dianne (Carl) Taylor and Stephanie (John) Bennett.

 

McDougall JimMcDOUGALL, James Kenneth 'Jim' - (June 16, 1925 - October 25, 2017) -

Jim lived a varied life including service in the RCAF during WWII, teaching in Ethiopia and Ontario, serving as a missionary in Africa, South America and Japan and active membership and leadership both locally at Calvary Baptist Church (Harvest Bible Chapel), and earlier service as Moderator of the Convention Baptists of Ontario and Quebec.

In his later years, he entered into Long Term Care at Wyndham Manor in Oakville, where his nickname was ‘the gentleman.' Jim was interested in many activities including construction, ham radio, woodworking, but his focus was always on living his faith journey and being of service and an example to his family, many friends, church and community.

 

ANGUS, Marion Elizabeth - Following a three-week stay in hospital, Mom could no longer fight to stay with us. Surrounded by her loving family, she left us in the early evening of Wednesday, October 25, 2017.

In life, as in death, Mom tackled every obstacle placed in her way with determination, strength, razor sharp wit and equally sharp tongue. Throughout her life, Mom’s greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother. Mom believed family was the most important thing in life and that her grandchildren were second to none.

Born April 8, 1931 in Holstein, Ontario, Mom was predeceased by three of four brothers (Marshall, Bruce and Donald) and the love of her life, her husband Alec in 1990. She will be forever loved and remembered by her daughter Cathy (Steve), son Brian (Jane), grandchildren Aleczandra (Steve), Errington, Lydia and Jack and her brother Malcolm (Margaret).

Predeceased by her beloved husband Robert of 64 years. Cherished mother of Gary Rust (Lucie) of Morin Heights, Quebec, Debbie Rust of Burlington, Bobby Rust of Toronto and Christina Brindley of Burlington.

She bravely fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her voracious spirit and love for her family and friends were her strength.

To the end, she continued her witty comebacks in every situation. She was a great cook, an admirable baker, and the life of the party. Her kindness knew no bounds, and it was extended to all.

Pietje 'Edith' Jagersma Gillissen was born on December 4, 1929 in Tietsjerkstaredeel, The Netherlands. She was youngest of seven girls.

Edith met John Gillissen in the late 40's & married on Oct 23 1951. They were best friends, blessed with an amazing relationship. Her husband John had the ability to convince Edith to do almost anything including moving to Canada... not once but twice! A huge feat for Edith who had a terrible fear of flying, but she would do anything for John

Adventures included building or renovating a number of homes in both Holland & Canada.

 

COOK, Robert Glen - (1951 - 2017) - Passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the Milton District Hospital.

Glen Cook, loved forever by his wife of 44 years, Diane. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law. He will be forever missed by his children; Christine, Carrie (Moe) and Rob and grandchildren; Logan, Maren, Ryson and Sam.

Forever remembered by his brothers; Ted (Randee), Jim, Barry (Gail) and Stephen, and his brothers-in-law Dave and Chuck and sisters-in-law Kara and Linda.

 

BELL, Victor Russell 'Vic' - (1955 - 2017) - We sadly announce the sudden passing of Victor Russell Bell on October 24th, 2017 at Milton District Hospital.

Victor was known for his love of music, hiking, camping, car racing, painting, and was happiest exploring nature with his dog by his side.  After a life of adventure Vic did succumb to complications of diabetes.

He is survived by his beloved wife Marie Bell along with his daughter Maria Nowell and son in law Blake Nowell. He will be deeply missed by his sister JoAnne Courchesne (Bell), and her husband, Brian.

Beloved son to the late Georgina and William Bell and nephew to his uncle Billy. He passed on his passion for music to his niece, Danielle and love of the outdoors to his nephew, Aaron.
