Ford JohnFORD, John Peter Hamiton, QC - (April 15, 1934 - April 10, 2018) - “Until next time.” True to one of his favourite sentiments, John passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Devoted and beloved husband of Yvonne, and much loved father of Jill (Mike) Menard, Susan (Bevis) Bullock, and Jennifer (Murray) Thomas. John took great pride in his wonderful grandchildren, Kyle and Sean Menard, Charlotte, Brett, Brady, and Shannon Bullock, and Liam and Adam Thomas. John was also a beloved uncle to cherished nieces and nephews.

An accomplished and respected lawyer, John graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Bar in 1960. He pursued his passion for law for 57 years and was awarded the prestigious Queen’s Council designation in 1973. A lifelong Oakville resident, John shared with his family the importance of giving back to others through his involvement in numerous community foundations.

Eaton DarrylEATON, Darryl - (June 3, 1940 - April 9, 2018) -

Darryl Eaton began his career as principal trumpet and trumpet soloist with the Royal Canadian Air Force, first with the Central Band in Ottawa and later with the Air Transport Command Band in Toronto.

He also performed in a similar capacity with the Expo Band at the World’s Fair in Montreal in 1967, and he later toured with the National Ballet of Canada, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the big bands of Buddy Rich, Stan Kenton, and Canadian jazz icon Phil Nimmons.

He was a successful freelance musician in Toronto where he performed with Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Bob Hope, Smokey Robinson, The Beach Boys, Paul Anka, The Supremes, and many others.

Born in Budapest, Hungary in December of 1935. Strong, beautiful, smart, kind and dignified, she used her strength to survive the Nazis, daringly escape the Communists and make a new life for herself in Canada.

She met and married Colin, a wonderful Yorkshireman (d. 2003) who was just visiting Toronto but chose instead to stay and marry the captivating Hungarian. Together they had a life full of love, travel, art, music, and most of all family and lasting friendships. Later in life she found a new chance at love with Gordon Inglis (d.2013) and his loving family.

Patterson BettyPATTERSON, Betty Jane - (1929 - 2018) - Beyond embodying her role as the matriarch of our family – Betty was a woman of conviction, tenacity, courage, and vibrancy. Her beauty, strength and relentless spirit in the wake of challenge was matched only by her immeasurable love of her family.

Betty found her greatest joy surrounded by this ever-growing clan she humbly, yet proudly started when she met her greatest and only love Donald Patterson. As Betty would say, "She's with the "Ol' Boy now!"

After months of struggling through a number of ailments, Betty passed peacefully in the late evening of April 9th 2018, surrounded by many of her family members.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years(Walid), daughter (Amal), two sons (Rami and Sami).

Frieda was vibrant, compassionate, creative, and full of life. She received her Master's degree from Beirut, Lebanon (AUB), and received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto which allowed her to fulfill her passion of teaching with Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board.

BLACKIE, Doreen Gertrude Mallory (nee Alexander) - It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Doreen Gertrude Mallory Blackie (nee Alexander), 93, on April 8th, 2018 at the Georgetown Hospital.

Loving wife and best friend to Sandy (Alexander) Blackie. Dear mother of Deborah Mallory (Bill). Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her sister Jean and her brother Jack.

McKay DavidMcKAY, David Richard - Born on, August 25, 1955, David passed away peacefully in the presence of his wife, daughters and son-in-law at Allendale Long Term Care Home on April 8, 2018.

He courageously survived neck cancer and a stroke and bravely fought lung cancer until his passing.

Born in Pointe-Aux-Trembles (Montreal), Quebec, to Edward and Teresa McKay. Survived by his wife Claudette, daughters Michelle (Scott Masson) and Kelly.
