It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Anne on January 7th, 2019 at the age of 73.
Anne was heartbroken after losing her husband James just seven short months ago. They had been married for 52 years.
We feel peace knowing Anne has passed on to reunite with her love again.
Anne leaves behind her daughter Jo-Ann (Dino Riccardi) and her son Kevin (Roxanne Barker-Corcoran). Cherished Grandma to Carina, Nathan, Logan and Emmalene. She was also known as “Grandma Anne” to Blake and Chase.
Anne was born and raised in Petit de Grat, Nova Scotia to Loretta (nee Fortune) and Eugene Benoit. She is survived by her brothers Alfred, Clement, Stanley, Phil, and sister Jeannine. Anne took tremendous joy in being with her extended family. When her family stayed with her after Jim passed away, the teasing and laughing between her and her brothers, nieces and nephew made everyone laugh so hard. She loved every moment with them and was most vibrant during these times.
Anne touched a lot of people during her lifetime. She was so happy and content. Thank you mom (and grandma) from all of us for these past two weeks; these lighter and happier moments will give us all great peace in the days ahead.
A celebration of Anne’s life will be held at Glen Oaks Funeral Home, Oakville. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 13th from 4 - 8pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 14th at 11am. Doors open at 10am. Burial to follow. A post-funeral reception will be held in the chapel. We welcome you to join us.
