Gallagher RuthGALLAGHER, Ruth (nee Hartley) - (December 23, 1933 to September 19, 2016) - Peacefully passed away in Hamilton, on Monday, September 19, 2016, at the age of 82.

Beloved wife of the late Rev. Robert Gallagher (2006).

Loving mother of Kerry Lubrick (Michael), Brenda Gallagher (Tony Duarte), Dawn Gallagher Murphy (Ivan Murphy) and Michael (Sandy Fernandes). Cherished grandmother of Jesse, Shawna, Nicole, Samantha, Michael and Robert.

Dear sister of Sandra Gaudet (Alan) and the late Steven Hartley (1974). She was a special sister-in-law to Isobel Gallagher of Donegal, Ireland and Edwin Gallagher of Birmingham, England. A much loved auntie to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents William (1984) and Florence (1998).

Ruth retired from the Bank of Montreal in 1994 and had an active retirement traveling, volunteering and enjoying the tranquility of Buck Lake, Muskoka. Ruth was known for her consistent love and caring support, finding the good in all, always providing humour through her jokes and stories and for amazing cursory writing, baking and knitting skills. She was an active parishioner in many Anglican Churches during her lifetime and while also supporting Robert in his Ministry. She was a long time member of the Mothers' Union; a group of women that she valued and shared in the goal of supporting family life and social justice.

Ruth's family would like to thank Dean Wall and the wonderful staff and caring angels at The Village of Wentworth Heights, Stonechurch Neighbourhood for their care and support of their mother and family.

Cremation has taken place. A Service of Remembrance will be held at St. Matthew-on-the-Plains Anglican Church, 126 Plains Road East, Burlington, on Saturday, September 24th at 11 am, followed by a reception in the church hall.

For those who wish, a memorial donation to Primates World Relief & Development Fund, St. Matthew's Anglican Church or the Alzheimer Society of Hamilton/Halton would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
