LANG, Peter H. - Proudly Served in the Funeral Profession since 1977.
It is with sadness that we announce the death of Peter at Ian Anderson House on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the age of 62.
Born and named Erwin Hermann Hans Peter Lang on Wednesday, December 23, 1953 at Kirkland Lake, Ontario, first son of Rose & Hermann Lang who emigrated from Germany.
Peter is survived by his devoted and loving husband Petrus Tung, his loving mother Rose-Marie Hermiston, his brother Fred (Fran) and nephews Joshua and Cameron,
his Aunt Johanna Blanchette and her families in Texas, his dear cousin/sister Kathryn T. Sabo, his Aunt Lana and Uncle Horst and families in Dryden, his Kopriva-Taylor family, Ilona Kopriva-Robinson, Terry Cooke, Terry Campbell, Gordon Hunter, James Mitchell, Allie Mudry, Katherine Downey, Karyn Campbell, Kathleen Dubeau, Brad Bolton, Fred Bostock, Gregory Veins, and Brian Thornton he is predeceased by his youngest brother Herman Horst Lang, his father Hermann Lang, his stepfathers Angus McNeil, William Sabo, and Robert William Hermiston.
He will be sadly missed by his many dear friends including Claudette McNeil, Shirley Wyllie (Renzo), Mike Simpson, Peter Reich, Bruce Park, Kevin Lam, Chris Matthison, Frank Andrade, Stephen Morrow and his College Buddy Charles Sweetman and his long time friend Dr. David Hernandez of California.
Formerly employed by the Marvyn M. Veale Funeral Home (Now the Ferris Funeral Home (Simcoe, Ontario), G.H. Hogle Funeral Home, (Mimico, Ontario), Wignall Funeral Chapel (Long Branch, Ontario), Oakview Funeral Home, (Oakville, Ontario), Neweduk Funeral Home (Mississauga, Ontario), Turner & Porter Funeral Directors Ltd., (Mississauga and Toronto, Ontario) and lastly with the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, (Oakville, Ontario).
Peter was also a part-time and Sessional Instructor in the Funeral Service Education Program at Humber College from 1980 to 1988. During that time Peter also worked with Pat Monkman with the Ontario Cemetery Association in the creation and development of the first Cemetery Law Program at Guelph University. Peter also worked for North Oakville Animal Hospital as a bookkeeper for 7 years.
His career with Kopriva Taylor ended after suffering several strokes and living with stomach ancer since April 30, 2014.
Celebration of Remembrance of Peter’s life will take place at the Kopriva-Taylor Community Funeral Home, Oakville on Saturday, October 8th from 4-6 p.m. Private scattering will take place at a later date
