Loving wife of the late Jan Michalak.

Beloved mother of Halina Shea (John), Les Michalak and Teresa Michalak. Cherished Babcia of Ryan (Julia), Tad and Geoff. Proud Pra-Babcia of Brady and Nolan.

Maria will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends here in Canada and her native Poland. Maria was an active member of the Polish community in Hamilton and Burlington since immigrating to Canada in 1951. She spent many summers in Barry's Bay (Kaszuby) cooking at the Polish scout camps.

Maria was a truly wonderful person who brought joy and laughter to all whose lives she touched.  She lived life to the fullest and did things her way. She will be dearly missed and thought of often.

Visitation at Smith's funeral home, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington on Tuesday, October 11th from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm.  Vigil prayers at 4:00 pm.

Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, 2261 Parkway Drive, Burlington on Wednesday, October 12th at 10:30 a.m.  Interment to follow. Reception to follow at the Polish Hall.

For those who wish, donations in memory of Maria to a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
