Fuchs BenFUCHS, Bendicht 'Ben' - (October 10, 1924 – February 6, 2017) - Bendicht (Ben) Fuchs died on February 6th, 2017 at the Headwaters Healthcare Centre in Orangeville, ON, in his 93rd year.

He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (nee Moeri).

Papa Ben was the beloved father of Mary Hurst (Mark) of Callander ON, John (Marion) of Edmonton, AB and Katherine of Halton Hills, ON. He is lovingly remembered by three grandchildren: Holly, Kathleen and Mitchell; and five great-grandchildren: Ellis, Adelaide, Amelia, Hugh and Eliza.

Predeceased by his parents Fritz and Emma (Siegenthaler), brothers Fritz and Hans and sisters Emma, Marie and Magdalena.

Born in Bern Switzerland, Ben immigrated to Canada with his new wife Elizabeth in 1951. Trained in Switzerland as a cheesemaker, he continued in that profession, before moving to Rexdale, Ontario where he worked as a sheetmetal tradesman. In 1965 our parents purchased a dairy farm on the 4th Line near Acton. Ben lived on the farm until 2008 and in recent years his residence was at the Lord Dufferin Center Retirement Residence in Orangeville.

For many years Papa Ben travelled to Switzerland and Western Canada where he enjoyed visiting family and skiing in the mountains. Ben also loved reading, music, singing, yodelling and cottage life on Lake Talon.

The funeral service for Papa Ben will be held on Friday, February 10th at 11 am in the Chapel at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, Acton. Following the service he will be laid to rest next to his wife at Fairview Cemetery, Acton.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the CNIB, Headwaters Healthcare Foundation or charity of your choice, would be greatly appreciated.
