Dawson LorraineDAWSON, Lorraine Beryl (Alsgard) - Always a fighter, Lorraine passed away peacefully on February 14, 2017.

On February 10, Lorraine celebrated her 83rd birthday in style, with her daughters and grand-daughter and was thrilled to welcome her great-grand-daughter on February 11.

Married to her best friend, and first mate to her captain, David, for over 61 years. Proud mother of Jean Faulkner (Steven Leyland) and Sue Salvatore (Frank).

Loving grandmother to Andrew Faulkner (Leigh Nash) and Benjamin Faulkner (Kat Wadel), and Stephanie Casinelli (Robert) and Michael Salvatore (Laura Hendren) and Stephanie Coomber (Jason) and Justine Leyland and G.G. to Martha Faulkner Nash.

Remembered with love by her brother Alan Alsgard (Lois) and sister Carol Bonetti, many nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by her parents Andrew Silas and Minnie Rose Alsgard and son-in-law Robert Howard Faulkner.

Born and raised in Southern Alberta, Lorraine was proud of her western heritage, and retained her feisty, independent nature. Lorraine obtained her RN from the U of A, and her BScN from U of T.

Lorraine was a resident of Burlington for over 21 years, and was an active member of the Burlington Seniors Centre. An avid gardener and lover of both travel and nature, Lorraine was creative and artistic, practising bunka, knitting and crochet, making blankets, mittens and hats for her entire family, and Issy dolls for children in Africa.

A special thank you for all of the kindness of the wonderful staff of LaSalle Park Retirement Residence.

Visitation will be held at the DODSWORTH & BROWN FUNERAL HOME, Burlington Chapel (2241 New Street) on Friday February 17th from 5 - 8 pm. Memorial Service in the chapel on Saturday February 18 at 10:30 am.

Cremation has taken place.
