McIVER, Matthew - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Matthew John McIver, on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the young age of 53.

Matthew battled a rare cancer with great courage, determination, faith and hope for almost four years. He will be deeply missed by his best friend and wife Tracy, his beloved sons Lewis and Joshua and step-children Braedon and Kendra. He was so proud of his beautiful blended family. He will also be missed by his siblings Ian, Elaine and Roz, family and friends. Predeceased by brother Mark and daughter Rosie.

Matthew moved from the UK to Canada in 1997 and built a successful business where he touched the lives of many. He had an incredible business acumen, was a great leader and cared deeply about his work colleagues. He was a man of great integrity and strength, who lived by his values. He had a great sense of humour, was compassionate, loving and generous. He enjoyed cooking and sharing fine wine and music with family and friends. He passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side.

We thank the doctors, nurses and support teams at Princess Margaret and Toronto General Hospitals for the wonderful care Matthew received. We also thank the Oakville Palliative Care team for the care in his final days at home.

Visitation will take place on Monday, March 13th at the GLEN OAKS FUNERAL HOM, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville from 4-8 p.m.

A funeral service will take place at St. Jude's Anglican Church (160 Williams Street, Oakville), on Tuesday, March 14th at 12:30 p.m. Private family burial.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or Wellspring.
