Headley MarianHEADLEY, Marian E. (Read) - With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marian E Headley (Read) on March 6, 2017 in her 90th year in Barrie, ON.

She was born and raised in the city of Toronto. She attended East York Collegiate Institute and Shaw Business College. She obtained her first job at Loblaws at the age of 12.

She remained in the workforce holding positions such as secretary to the Credit Manager for Simpsons, secretary for Kipling Heights Medical Clinic & Accountant/Co Director of the Metro Safety Council.

She was a committed volunteer to the community, founding the Canadian Girls in Training-Downsview United Church Chapter, cofounder of the Rexdale Community Information Directory, Wolf Cub leader Akela of the 13th Humber West Cub Pack.

Cherished wife of 68 years to her beloved husband Fred, predeceased April 2016. She was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Alice Read (Woodstock), and sister Florence. Remembered with love by sisters Winnie and Chris, and brother-in-law Paul. Loving mother of John (Joanne), Rodger, Lawrence (Brenda) and Heather Pokol (Gaye).

She was adored by her grandchildren, Matthew, Kim, Kristopher (Melissa), Laura, Ryan, Jason, Dylan, Jennifer Ferguson (Drew), Brittney Snihur(Markian) and great grandson Kallum.

Please join us for a Celebration of Marian's Life on Wednesday April 26th at the DODSWORTH & BROWN FUNERAL HOME, Burlington Chapel (2241 New Street) between noon and 2:30 pm. Words of Remembrance may be shared at 2:00 pm. At 2:30 pm the family will proceed to a private interment.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in the honour of Marian.
