Stoneham ElaineSTONEHAM, Elaine (nee English) - (1933 - 2017) -

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Elaine Stoneham, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the age of 83.

Elaine was the beloved wife of the late Herbert Stoneham (1931-1996). Loving mother of Paul Stoneham (wife Tami Goven Stoneham) of London, England and Shelagh Stoneham Pedler (husband Trevor Pedler) of Toronto. Cherished grandmother “Nana” and confidant of Christine Pedler and loving “Nana” of Henry Stoneham.

Sister of Brian English of Oshawa. Predeceased by brothers Clair and Roger English as well as her parents Angus and Florence English.

Elaine was a kind, giving and loving woman who deeply cherished her family and friends. She had a wonderful ability to touch those she encountered in a unique way leaving them better off with a kind word, warm smile, insightful observation or sage advice. Elaine was also a surrogate grandmother to others who gravitated to her and her home.

After a brief professional business career in her 20’s, Elaine became a full time mother and then grandmother while also devoting a large amount of time and energy to a broad array of worthy causes throughout the years including The Red Cross, The Kidney Foundation, Appleby College, St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School and the Rotary Club.

The family wishes to thank the Joseph Brant ICU team for their professionalism, deep kindness and care for Elaine. In lieu of flowers and for those who wish, donations in memory of Elaine may be made to the Rotary Club of Burlington Central.

May God care for Elaine as she selflessly cared for others.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 20th at St. Jude's Anglican Church, 160 William St, Oakville. Arrangements entrusted to Smith's funeral home, Burlington.
