McManus JoanMcMANUS, Joan - (April 6, 1927 - April 5, 2017) - It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving Mum.

Joan was born in Pelaw, north of England to James and Francis Conville. Joan and her beloved husband Tom moved to the south of England and eventually emigrated to Canada in 1968 with their four daughters.

A gracious, elegant lady, who inspired us all with her creativity and love of life. She was an accomplished artist, amazing knitter and seamstress. Joan worked at the Oakville Public Library for many years. In their later years Joan and Tom travelled the world extensively meeting and inspiring many. Mum was an avid walker her whole life and losing her leg didn't hold her back; she still danced every chance she got.

Joan is survived by her four daughters Christine, Helen, Joanna, Kate and honorary 5th daughter Julie. Grandchildren Sarah, Simon, Timothy, Dylan, Natasha, Nicholas, Emma and Teddy her great grandson.

The family would like to thank all the staff at the Kensington and C.C.A.C for all the generous nurturing care over the past 6 years.

Funeral will be held at Saint Dominic Roman Catholic Church, 2415 Rebecca St., Oakville on Tuesday April 11th at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers donations to http://www.canadianfoodforchildren.net would be much appreciated. Mum knitted many children's pneumonia vests for this charity. Arrangements entrusted with Kopriva-Taylor funeral home.
