Pettit JeannePETTIT, Jeanne Margaret (nee Cossar) - We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Jeanne on October 7th, 2017 at 88 years of age.

Predeceased by the love of her life, Jimmy, to whom she was married for 45 wonderful years.

Dearly loved Mom of Bill (Sally) Tindale, Kath (the late Steve) Leslie, Ann (Kevin) Nye, Cari (Alan) Angold, Doug (Laurie) Tindale, and John (Jennifer) Tindale. Loving stepmom of the late Susanne Pettit-Crossman, John Pettit, Ruth (George) Donaldson, and Diane (Jamie) Hall.

Proud and loving Gran of 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

In 1976, Jeanne and Jim left Burlington for Windermere where they happily renovated Paquana Cottages, creating joyful Muskoka memories for the many families who would return year after year. Jeanne was a true Renaissance woman as comfortable with a mitre saw as she was with needle and thread.

A natural athlete, she enjoyed many sports but nothing beat a dip in the lake. She loved cryptic crosswords, a good game of bridge, and beating the pants off of Jimmy at gin! Jeanne readily gave her time and energy to her community where her charitable work included Windermere Women’s Institute, 4H Club, and the Terry Fox Run. She will be remembered for her positive sunny outlook, genuine smile and kind heart.

The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the angels at The Brant Centre, Burlington for their gentle and loving care.

Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted with Smith's funeral home, 485 Brant Street, Burlington.

Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
