Garside DennisGARSIDE, Dennis - Dennis Garside, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 4th, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at Milton District Hospital, in his 79th year.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife Renee (nee Hall) of 57 years. Beloved father of Andrew (Sandie), and Jeanine (Mark) Howard. Cherished papa to Brianna, Emmalyn, Parker, Arliese, Brookelyn and Riley.

His older brother Bill (Elsie) Garside resides in England. He is predeceased by his son Mark, his parents Harold and Mary (nee Lomas), sisters Joan (Ernest) Bailey and Helen (Norman) Clegg. A caring brother in law, uncle to many nephews, nieces and a friend to all.

Dennis was born in Chadderton, England, to Harold and Mary Garside, on June 6, 1938. He attended school in Chadderton. After finishing school Dennis joined the work force at the British Railways.

He married Renee Hall on Sept 24, 1960 in Failsworth. Andrew, was born in January 1963, Mark was born in May 1964. Dennis moved to Toronto, Canada in November 1965, where he was employed by John T. Hepburn. Renee, Andrew and Mark followed him to Toronto in March 1966. Jeanine was born in Toronto in April 1968. He worked as a Millwright for St. Lawrence Cement for 30 years. He was a Union Rep. and as such went on several trips on Union business, namely Newfoundland and Las Vegas.

He was actively involved in the Masonic Fraternity and the Order of the Eastern Star. He belonged to Oakville 400 Lodge and White Oak Chapter #104, G.R.C. Halton Chapter #280, Milton, and Peace Rose Chapter #315, Georgetown, O.E.S. He was an avid golfer and a member of Golf North, Acton Glen. He loved golfing, bowling and watching the Leafs, Blue Jays, Argos, the Raptors and any Soccer, especially English Premier League, on TV.

He also enjoyed the time spent at Lawson Trailer Park during the summer where on most Saturday nights he would strive for a perfect score in Darts. He especially enjoyed watching all his grandchildren participating in different sports. What he cherished most of all, was the time spent with family. He will be missed by so many.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home, 114 Main St. E., Milton on Wednesday November 8th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Celebration of Dennis's life will be held on Thursday November 9th at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Refreshments will be available after the Service in the St. Clair Masonic Hall, 6321 Regional Road 25, Milton.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations in memory of Dennis to Milton District Hospital Foundation or to the charity of choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
